Notifications and reminders
The three daily reminders, how to change their times, and what to check when they don't arrive.
Updated
Christlike can remind you gently, at times that suit you.
The daily reminders
- Morning: the verse of the day (7:00 unless you choose another time)
- Midday: a short prayer (12:30)
- Evening: a reminder at 20:00, only when your day is not finished yet
You will get at most 3 of these a day, and announcements from the Christlike team count toward them. Change the times, or turn any of them off, in Settings → Daily reminders.
Some alerts have their own switches in Settings and do not count toward the 3: friend requests, thanks for your gifts, and the Prayer Room reminder (which never shows what you wrote).
When reminders don't arrive
- Allow notifications. The app asks for permission the first time. If you said no, open your phone's Settings → Apps → Christlike → Notifications and turn them on.
- Remove battery limits. Some phones stop apps in the background to save battery. In Settings → Apps → Christlike → Battery, choose Unrestricted (the words differ a little between phones).
- Check the time. Reminders follow your phone's clock, so keep Date and time set automatically.
- Open the app once. Christlike plans the next days of reminders each time you open it.
