Your account

Delete your Christlike account.

You can delete your account at any time, in the app or on the web. Here is exactly what happens.

In the app (immediate)

  1. Open Christlike and go to You → Settings.
  2. Tap Delete account.
  3. Sign in again when asked (this confirms it is really you).
  4. Confirm. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

Want a copy first? You → Settings → Download my data gives you everything your account holds.

On the web (within 30 days)

If you cannot open the app, for example because you lost your phone or your account was disabled:

Request deletion on the web

Give your username and the email on the account. We check that the email matches and delete the account within 30 days. The email and any note you leave on the form are erased 30 days after we handle the request; we keep the username and the date as a record that it was handled.

What is deleted

  • Your sign-in (Google or email and password) at Firebase Authentication.
  • Your profile: username, display name, time zone, settings.
  • Your daily progress, streak, Rest Days and Grace Days, Seeds history, level and unlocks.
  • Friends, friend requests, blocks, nudges, invite code, your notifications inbox.
  • Group memberships (a group you lead passes to its longest-standing member, or is deleted if nobody else is in it), your wall posts and "Amen"s.
  • Sword Drills, Daily Drill rounds, Word Quests, chapters read, gifts (a friend's history keeps a gift you sent, without your name).
  • Journeys and lessons, with every practice answer. Live rooms you were in (a room you host ends at once).
  • Seek and Find conversations and flagged answers.
  • Sower records (the subscription itself is with Google Play, see below).

What is kept, and for how long

  • Reports already sent to our moderators about someone's behaviour, a group or a post are kept without any names, account numbers or notes, so they no longer identify anyone. A flag you sent on a Seek and Find answer is kept, without your account, until 90 days after we dealt with it; then its copy of the question and answer is erased.
  • Backups of our database may still hold your data for a limited time: a nightly copy is kept for 14 days, and a copy made before each software update is kept until 30 newer update copies exist. Backups are not used to restore deleted accounts.
  • Web deletion requests: the username and date are kept as a record; the email and note are erased 30 days after the request is handled.

What stays on your phone

Deleting your account does not touch what is on your phone: your Prayer Room, Bible highlights and notes, and local progress stay until you uninstall the app or clear its data. The Prayer Room was never on our servers to begin with.

Sower subscribers: deleting your account does not cancel a Google Play subscription. Cancel it in the Play Store: Menu → Subscriptions → Christlike → Cancel. Otherwise Google keeps billing you.
